Dance Plus City - Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre
This is a look from a different angle at the spaces of one of the best-known buildings in the city of Vilnius. Easily-recognised colours, surfaces, patterns and forms intertwine with the unconventional movement of ballet soloists Kristina Gudžiūnaitė and Julija Stankevičiūtė.
The Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre is an indispensable symbol of the Neris riverbank, in the architecture of which intermingle tradition and modernity. The minimalist dimensions of the building conceal interior spaces of impressive height, sinuous balconies and the building's famous chandeliers. In the interior, we discover traditional Lithuanian materials and a vivid range of colour: red clay bricks, brass fixtures and unique wooden finishing. The Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre was built in 1974. Its architect was Elena Nijolė Bučiūtė.
