CECILIE ANDERSSON - HOUSING CHOICE – OR HOW TO NEGOTIATE THE OPPORTUNITIES

ARCHITECTURE OF EDUCATION: COMMUNITIES AND INNOVATIONS

25
JAN 2018
Why the talk is inspiring?

This talk is exploring the educational opportunities found in engaging an old factory by the sea with initiatives, in playful dialogue with regulations, limitations, difficulties and strain. Questioning how searching the path for a school can lead far off track of plausible institutional regimes.

The conversation is arranged in collaboration with VGTU Faculty of Architecture.

The talk is held on January 25th at the National Art Gallery (NDG), Konstitucijos av. 22, Vilnius.

Event starts at 8 p.m. Entrance is free of charge. Lecture will be held in English.

SPEAKER
CECILIE ANDERSSON
How the speaker is exceptional?

Cecilie Andersson is the current rector of Bergen School of Architecture, a small, private school with an Open Form approach to architecture and society. She has researched migrant positioning and urban villages in China and is interested in how policy and agency house neglect but also choice.

RECOMMENDS TO READ
THE PARASITE
Michel Serres
Why the book is worth reading?

This book provides a fundamental reading of how relations are built, and make the reader understand how every actor and act can be a disturber, and how every relation is affected by disturbance, how this mesh creates what we spatially and socially relate to, also as architects. A good way to ground further reading on man and nature relations.
